Committees and Participation
Representation and consultation is an important part of graduate student life and governance. The bodies below are important entities in which graduate students participate and make their voices heard.
Graduate Student Advisory Committee
This consultative committee meets once or twice per semester to consult with the Director of Graduate Studies and Chair about issues related to the graduate program.
The Advisory Committee liaisons to the department for 2022-23 are: Ghayde Ghraowi (Arabic Humanities), Parker Zane (Assyriology), Miguel Monteiro (Classical Near East), and Mike Tritsch (Egyptology).
The faculty liaison to the Advisory Committee for 2022-23 is Professor Nadine Moeller.
Graduate Student Assembly
The Graduate Student Advisory Committee elects a representative to the Graduate Student Assembly. Members of the GSA serve on committees that address graduate student issues and advocate for changes and improvements to Graduate School policies.
