Pavla Rosenstein is a PhD candidate in Assyriology. She is interested in socio-economic history, the development of writing as an economic and political tool, and the interaction between ancient societies and their environment. She is currently working on her dissertation exploring the guiding principles informing the structure and order of early Mesopotamian law collections.
She also contributes to digitization and public outreach initiatives at the Yale Babylonian Collection and edits the Mar Shiprim newsletter published by the International Association for Assyriology (IAA). In 2023-2024 she served as a McDougal Teaching Fellow at the Yale Center for Teaching and Learning.
