Professor Emeritus William Kelly Simpson 1928-2017.

The Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations at Yale University is sad to report that William Kelly Simpson (B.A. 1947, M.A. 1948, Ph.D. 1954), Professor Emeritus of Egyptology, died on March 24, 2017. He joined Yale’s faculty in 1958. He retired in 2004.
A memorial colloquium will be held to honor his life and legacy on Saturday October 7th, 2017 at Yale’s Peabody Museum of Natural History.
