Mieko Willoughby is an M.A. student, studying Assyriology and Egyptology with a particular focus on ancient Near Eastern economies. Mieko attended University of Pennsylvania, majoring in Economics and European History. She received a B.A. with Honors in Near Eastern Languages & Civilizations, graduating summa cum laude. Mieko was elected to the Yale chapter of Phi Beta Kappa in 2026.
Mieko has had a long career in finance, and serves as an active board member on several corporate and philanthropic boards. Her primary interests include the Bellevue Literary Press, a critically acclaimed independent publisher for which she is a founding board member, as well as supporting renewable energy ventures and initiatives in both the public and private sectors.
