Fatme Chehouri is a PhD student in the Arabic Humanities specialization. She works on pre-modern Arabic poetry (fourth/tenth and fifth/eleventh centuries). She holds an M.A and a B.A in Arabic Language and Literature from the American University of Beirut, with a thesis entitled “Poet and Place in the Fourth/Tenth and Fifth/Eleventh Centuries: A Study in al-Thaʿālibī’s Yatīmat al-dahr and al-Bākharzī’s Dumyat al-qaṣr.” Her research interest includes Arabic prose, advice literature, Arabic grammar and linguistics, and translation.
