Two Yale-NELC faculty win ASOR book prizes

Professors Nadine Moeller and Eckart Frahm won two separate book awards at the 2024 Annual Meeting of the American Society for Overseas Research(ASOR) last November.
For the five volumes of the ‘The Oxford History of the Ancient Near East’ (Oxford University Press), Professor Nadine Moeller together with Karen Radner (Munich) and Daniel Potts (ISAW) received the Frank Moore Cross Award which recognizes authors or editors of books that are considered ‘substantial volume(s) related to the history of the ancient Near East’.
Professor Eckart Frahm received the Nancy Lapp Popular Book award that recognizes an outstanding contribution for an academic book that has been written for a popular audience including scholars and the broader public. The title of his book, published by Basic Books, is ‘Assyria: The Rise and Fall of the World’s First Empire’.
