As part of the Yale Egyptology Lecture Series, we will be hosting Dr. Marie-Lys Arnette, who serves as an Assistant Professor (Alexander Badawy Chair in Egyptian Art and Archaeology) at Johns Hopkins University. Marie-Lys’s research falls within the field of historical anthropology, with her approach focused on cultural history, exploring aspects such as the perception of the body, emotions, the relationship to food, and imagery of death. She will be discussing her recent work on ludic practices at Deir el-Medina.
