Elham Alkasimi is a lector of Arabic. She received a B.A. in Middle Eastern Studies from New York University and an M.A. in Teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language from Middlebury College. Her current research interests focus on the challenges of teaching Arabic dialects in the US, and on women’s movements in the Arab world. Her teaching interests range from Beginner and Advanced Arabic to Women and Gender in the Middle East. In addition to teaching at Yale she has also taught at the University of New Haven and at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, CA.
