The Department organized a teach-in for the university community on April 1, 2003, entitled Iraq Beyond the Headlines. Panelists included: Eckart Frahm, Bombs Over Babylon: The Archaeological Heritage of Iraq; Siam Bhayro, Christians and Jews in Iraq; Beatrice Gruendler, Institutions of Learning in Iraq; Dimitri Gutas, Baghdad and Islamic Civilizations; and Benjamin Foster, Yale and Iraq. Discussion was moderated by Karen Foster.
